Why Classical Christian Education?

Classical Christian education is historically the education of the church.  It pursues truth by teaching the Bible daily and integrating every subject with a Biblical worldview.

KICD approved the Rafiki curriculum from preschool to Form Four In 2022.  As a result, Rafiki is working with the church to offer this curriculum in its academies and private Christian schools.  The purpose of the Rafiki Institute of Classical Education (RICE) is to train teachers who can teach the rigorous Rafiki curriculum and implement classical and Christian pedagogy.

God’s Word at Work.

The Rafiki Institute of Classical Education - Kenya

R.I.C.E. is a full-time, in person, two-year diploma program that offers students the opportunity to learn how to teach classically and to integrate biblical truth into lessons in all subject areas. Each day begins with Bible study followed by a series of courses that cover teaching pedagogy/ education theory and subject content in Language, Math, Theology, Music, Art, Science and World History. R.I.C.E. enriches the academic rigor of its program by providing a computer lab, library and sports facilities for student use.

Each year, students spend one term in the Rafiki model preschool for their practicum experience. A mentor teacher models the Rafiki curriculum which is fully approved by the MOE
